About the Author
Nikhat Powell
Nikhat Powell has spent much of her life telling stories - through film, teaching, photographs, and now, words. Her work begins with the ordinary: a conversation, a journey, a family story, a moment that seemed insignificant until time gave it another meaning.Seeds of Change grew from that habit of looking back and noticing what remained. Across its volumes are stories of family and relationships, migration and belonging, work and reinvention, mistakes and small victories - the fragments of an ordinary life that, gathered together, become something larger.
Written first for her children, and for the generations who will come after them, these stories now reach beyond the family. They are an invitation to look again at the seemingly unremarkable moments of our own lives, and perhaps discover that they were never quite so ordinary after all.
